Dear President Joshua Liang and members and friends of the Taiwan Lutheran Brethren Church: Thank you for sending us an invitation to come to your 50th Anniversary celebration. We regret that we are unable to join you because of health reasons, but we send warm greetings at this time of rejoicing in what the Lord has done. "This is our prayer that your love may abound more and more in the knowledge and depth of insight, also that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ." Philippians 1:9-11 Every day we pray for believers in Taiwan.
We arrived there in September of 1957. We have many precious memories from our time spent there, and we thank God for all the friends that we have learned to know during the ten years we worked and enjoyed fellowship with you. One of the first exciting events we remember was of the moving of the Miaoli church from a storefront chapel downtown to a brand new church building.
The group marched down main street singing hymns all the way to the church. There we attended the dedication of a church home where warm-hearted Christians gathered to worship God. What a privilege that was! Taiwan is not the same as it was when we were there, but we celebrate with you today because we are confident that you preach the same gospel and the faithfulness of God to His Word. Our prayer is that God may continue to use you to bring His salvation and encouragement to your friends and associates day after day, as you share the good news with others. With rejoicing, Arve and Marilyn Christofferson 2702 Snapdragon Street Bozeman, MT 59718 September, 2007
